About Madame Daddy

Based in St John’s

Madame Daddy is the ultimate genderbending draglesque goblin of the East Coast! Their inspiration comes through horror movies, burlesque, and icons of the 80s; and their performances are an eclectic blend of sensuality, stupidity, and dance moves fit for your dad’s BBQ. Add in years of dance and theatre training along with a heaping dash of gender defiance and trans joy, thus births the Madame Daddy experience!

Their drag journey began in 2018 at a competition show in a tiny downtown dive bar hosted by Canada’s Drag Race’s Irma Gerd; a few months later, a gooey slimy hand was extended to them to join Newfoundland’s premiere nonbinary drag troupe, The Phlegm Fatales! They have produced, hosted, and choreographed many a show in their tenure both individually and along with the Phlegms, including the group’s hit theatre production, Return to Planet Phlegm. Daddy’s work has been highlighted by several festivals and organizations in the city, including Lawnya Vawnya, Resource Centre for the Arts, St. John’s International CircusFest, HOLD FAST Festival, and The Rooms.

A theatre kid at heart, Daddy has graced some of the largest stages in the city in ensemble casts with TaDa! Events in Kinky Boots (2023) and The Rocky Horror Show (2023). They are a memorable face in the local drag community – specifically for their recurring Drag Bingo events at Kaleidoscope Drag Lounge (2022-2023) alongside their slimy sibling, Eda Kumquat – and they’ve expanded their reach all the way out to Deer Lake and Corner Brook in sold-out drag shows on the West Coast.
