About Makayla Couture

Makayla Couture is a powerful and inspiring young Black Trans woman from Toronto, who has made an unforgettable impact on the drag scene. Growing up in a family that encouraged creative thinking, Makayla found her love for the arts early on, despite not having the means for formal theatre or dance training. She started her own dance club, teaching routines she learned from YouTube, before enrolling in the Claude Watson program at Earl Haig Secondary School, where she majored in theatre.

During that time she started to discover the world of drag and eagerly seized every opportunity to immerse herself in the arts, knowing it was her true calling. She quickly became known for her stunning looks, infectious charisma, and incredible choreography. Her unique blend of talent and confidence earned her a place in the Haus of Couture after her first tv appearance as a makeover guest on Season 2 of Canada’s Drag Race.

Makayla’s widely anticipated run on Canada’s Drag Race did not disappoint. She captivated audiences with her magnetic presence, fierce tongue, and unapologetic confidence earning her spot as runner up on Season 5. Fans across the globe have been empowered by Makayla's raw authenticity and resilience, cementing her as a trailblazer in the drag world. With her powerful message and undeniable talent, Makayla Couture is a force to be reckoned with, destined inspire trans youth wherever she goes.
